Hamilton Homers Twice In Rangers Win Over Red Sox

Josh Hamilton homered in his first two at-bats, his first homers since he belatedly began his major league season this week back with Texas, helping the Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 7-4 on Friday night.

Hamilton pulled both homers into the seats in right field off knuckleballer Steven Wright.

Giants Shut Out Dodgers For Third Straight Day

Madison Bumgarner acknowledged that hitting a home run off Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was a little out of the ordinary. 

Bumgarner homered, pitched 6 1/3 solid innings and helped the Giants shut out the Dodgers for the third straight day, 4-0 Thursday.

Pence Goes 2-For-3 With A Double In Season Debut

The Giants activated right fielder Hunter Pence off the disabled list Saturday, giving the defending champions a boost to their struggling offense.

And Pence performed well in his first game, going 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in an 11-2 Giants' win.

"I'm just happy to be back playing again and being healthy," Pence said.

Flores, deGrom Make Collins Look Like Genius

Wilmer Flores arrived at Citi Field and saw he had been dropped to the bottom of the order, even below starting pitcher Jacob deGrom.

Mets manager Terry Collins slotted New York's top home run hitter ninth in the batting order for the first time in nearly a half-century and batted his pitcher eighth for the third time this season.

Flores responded with a grand slam in the 10-run fourth inning and DeGrom was 3-for-3 with three singles, including two in the big inning, as the Mets defeated the Brewers 14-1 on Saturday night.

Tigers star Miguel Cabrera hit his 400th career home run Saturday, a milestone that became official after an early rain delay.

Cabrera connected for a solo drive to straightaway center in the first inning at St. Louis on Saturday. 

"That means a lot to me," Cabrera said about the milestone. "But I just want to win and play games."

Alex Rodriguez joined Willie Mays in the 660 club Friday night at Fenway Park, and he did it in dramatic fashion, lining a 3-0 pitch from Junichi Tazawa into the seats above the Green Monster in the eighth inning of the Yankees' 3-2 win, according to an ESPN.com report.

The home run ties Rodriguez with Mays for fourth place on baseball's all-time career list.
